“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” Psalm 86:5 Thanks to Olga for sharing her heart-felt story about trusting God at the start of this year. If you haven’t read it yet, it is in English and Russian posted on facebook and on the yfcwomen website – HATS January Blog. At the beginning of this month our monthly day of prayer and fasting with the YFCI family around the world is focussed on the evidence of God’s love. YFCI Day of Prayer and Fasting – February, 2016 We encourage you to show love to your sisters in YFC around the world this month – a quick note of encouragement, a hug, a smile – in person or virtually. HATS January Blog 2016
Olga is the wife of one of our Regional Directors in a sensitive region. Her contribution for this first month of the New Year is in both English and Russian.
Psalm 62:8 “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”
It was the fifth day of the New Year 2016. I was sitting in a hospital, not far from the emergency room where a 13-month old child was fighting for life. This beautiful girl didn’t look like a warrior after two difficult surgeries and two long anesthesias, but she was still breathing. Suddenly I met the surgeon’s eyes. He was tired and worried and I was scared of my own thoughts. “What if she wouldn’t survive? What if she’ll die?” Just a few days ago, at the family Christmas party, this girl was running around happy and carefree, laughing with her cousins when our whole family gathered together to celebrate the birth of Jesus on the earth, and for the New Year. Her parents were hoping for the best, lifting up their prayers for their kids. And now, how hard it is to believe that God is good and trustworthy next to emergency room, where death is so close to your loved one! The Muslim doctor said: “We’ve done everything we could. Now, just pray.”
The whole family, all the relatives and friends, church members and even the Muslim doctor, had nothing to do now, only TRUST GOD and pour out our hearts for little Diana. She is feeling better today, but it’s going to be a long road to recovery and life where trusting God is the only way to go.
May Lord bless you all dear sisters. Trust Him and rely on Him every day. He is our refuge!
With love, Olga
From Gilbert in the US (Texas)
Please pray for the Hernandez family in San Antonio, Texas as one of their girls was badly burned yesterday and is in ICU at a hospital there. Gilbert Hernandez is the YFC ED there, hosting YFC USA Midwinter in February.
From Raija in France
Please pray for Jesus to visit and touch Martin, a faithful friend of YFC who is in a hospital right now. May the Lord put His loving, healing hands on him, take away all his suffering and peacefully surround him, and give strength to all the family.
Our Lord is always in time to do what He has decided to do. May His Spirit and His life flow on you, may He do it in a special way on those who suffer. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
